Delivery

We only deliver by a personal Courier Company, which means that all of our items are fully insured and do not suffer from being moved around by National Courier depot staff.

You can use one that we recommend or send your own courier however you need to check that you have Insurance as we will not be able to guarantee it arrives in the condition it left our warehouse in.

We aim to deliver as soon as your order is processed and you will be informed of your delivery date and estimated time of arrival. Delivery can take up to 20 days.

Please note that the courier is not insured for personal injury or damage once inside your property, your item will be delivered to your home, any further arrangements should be made by yourself for room placement.

Deliveries requiring special arrangements can sometimes be made but will be at an additional cost to you.

In the case where the customer insists on part delivery for whatever reason any additional costs incurred by the company will be charged to the customer, the same charge applies even if free delivery is given.

When you place your order you must inform us of any access restrictions or circumstances which may prevent successful delivery being completed.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all the goods you have ordered will fit into your home. Please check the measurements of all access areas e.g. doorways, hallways, stairs, stairwells, etc. The furniture is handmade and all measurements are approximate and can vary up to 3cm. We are unable to refund orders which cannot be delivered due to access restrictions, or items do not fit the room.

The customer is entering into a agreement with the courier company and not Classics Direct for Delivery.

Should you (the customer) decide to cancel your order before delivery but after the courier has taken your order from Classics Direct's warehouse, you are liable for the return of the ordered items in their original condition. Any charges incurred through a missed delivery and/or the return of the ordered items must be covered by you. Classics Direct may also insist on the payment of an administration charge in such an instance. Any refund due to the customer (less any aforementioned charges) will only be made when the goods are returned in their original condition to the Classics Direct warehouse.

If your item is not in stock we will endeavor to obtain an approximate lead time for your delivery.

We will not accept claims for inconvenience, compensation or cancellation, etc caused by unexpected or unavoidable delays in delivery.

Colour, finish & size variation

Every reasonable effort is made to ensure colour and finish consistency but our products are hand painted and wood colours/stains and dyes vary among batches. Wood products will exhibit natural variation in colour and grain. We advise that you purchase different items from a range at the same time to ensure a good colour match. Please also consider that, due to the hand made nature of our furniture, there will be minor variations and flaws in the finish, colour and carving detail. We believe this adds to the individual character of the furniture and makes no two pieces identical. Sizes given are approximate and may vary from one piece to another. Please also be aware that, unless otherwise stated, our armoires/wardrobes come in one piece (i.e. assembled). Should you require them in a "knockdown" (aka flat packed) form, please ensure you specify this when ordering as this may attract a small additional charge.

Cancellations

Cancellations will not be accepted if goods have been manufactured specifically for a customer, reserved, stored or despatched by ourselves, or by our suppliers.

Returns

Should an item arrive damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. If, for any reason, we are unable to replace your item a full refund will be issued. All couriers will ask you to inspect your purchase on delivery to confirm that no damage has been incurred in transit. Failure to conduct an inspection may result in Classics Direct refusing a returned item. Where an item is found to be damaged during inspection, the item will be returned to Classics Direct at no cost to the customer. In all other circumstances, the cost of returning an item to Classics Direct must be covered by the customer.

We operate a comprehensive guarantee policy, in addition to, and not affecting, your statutory rights. If any item is found to be faulty we will replace it free of charge. If having ordered a piece of furniture you decide within 7 days of receipt that you no longer want the piece then we will refund or exchange to the value of your order. In this case, we will charge for collection / return postage. If you decide that you do not want the piece before the courier has left your premises the collection fee will be waived.

We accept no liability if you return goods by any method other than a signed for delivery method (one that requires a signature upon receipt). In any event, we accept no liability in respect of returned goods unless and until such returned goods have been received by us in their original condition and in their original packaging. Please make sure that the returned package is properly secured. A refund will be issued upon inspection of the returned goods, having found them in perfect condition we will refund immediately. If however the goods have been damaged by your carrier it will be your responsibility to claim from the carriers insurance and no refund will be issued by ourselves.

Security

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed, using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Privacy Policy

Information given at the time of ordering/registration or through Email enquiries is collected to expedite our customer service and is collected lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Classics Direct does not disclose buyer’s information to third parties.  Please read our full Privacy Policy before making a purchase.

Intellectual Property

This site is owned and operated by Classics Direct Ltd (also referred to in these Terms as "we" and "us") and the information and materials appearing on the website (the "Content") are displayed for personal, non-commercial use only Website design, text, graphics, audio and video, and the selection and arrangement of the Content is the property of us or our suppliers and is protected by international copyright laws.

Contracts

This contract shall be governed by the law of England and Wales and any dispute, question or remedy howsoever arising determined exclusively by the Court of England and Wales.
